About Our Minister
Katie Lawson, minister of Foxborough Universalist Church, UUA, came to ministry via a career in outdoor and classroom education. In fact, she sees her ministry in Foxborough as an extension of her experiences as a wilderness guide and middle school teacher, which taught her to respect and trust the varied approaches people take to navigating life’s challenges. She draws inspiration for her work as a minister from the natural world, poetry, yoga and a variety of the world’s religious traditions.

Graduating from Colorado College with a B.A. in Sociology, Katie later completed a Master’s degree in education at Smith College. After teaching middle school and in the department of education at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Katie returned to her childhood home of San Francisco to attend Starr King School for the Ministry, a Unitarian Universalist seminary affiliated with the Graduate Theological Union.

Katie spends much of her free time outside. She is a long-time canoeist and cross-country skier, and is looking forward to exploring the East Coast’s forests, mountains, lakes and rivers. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, laughing hard, and doing projects around the house. She is currently trying to learn how to make cheese. She is available for conversations by appointment. Leave a message at the church to schedule a time.

It Takes A Village
The Foxborough Universalist Church religious education program is currently looking for volunteers to staff our Sunday School classes next church year. Teachers commit to six weeks with a class, are encouraged to participate in a teacher training in the fall, and are supplied lesson plans and a curriculum schedule. Please consider supporting this important part of the church’s mission. If you’re interested in helping, please contact Suzanne, Lisa, or Katie Lawson.
